Amherst Public Library is one of our top 5 favorite libraries in Lorain County. They did a huge renovation and extension a couple years ago in 2022 and added a whole new children's area on the 2nd floor.
It's so nice having a whole separate floor for the littles to play and learn where you're not as worried about them being a little loud or booking it for the door. They even have a lovely little reading terrace accessible from the children's area and it's so nice reading a book outside in the fresh air, on a beautiful day!
Inside, the children's area has tons of fun play features like:
Digital Game Table
Train Set & Table
Play Kitchen
Doll House
Interactive Light Wall
Magnetic Gear Wall
Lots of Puzzles
Building Blocks
Colorful Sensory Floor Squares
Tablet Station
Puppet Show Stage
Coloring Sheets
Seasonal Scavenger Hunts
They have some of our favorite story time sessions here with lots of fun and interactive activities, songs, crafts, and more! They also have tons of fun and free programing for all ages like "Canine Reading Buddies" where you can read with a therapy dog or adult craft nights, and so much more! Be sure to check out their calendar of events on their website at: amherstpubliclibrary.org
We just love it here & know your littles will too! 💕
